Where the name came from

I started this as a site where people can talk about their Jewish community: do you have a synagogue? Lots of synagogues? Community centers? Is it intergenerational (old people, young people, in-between people)? Do kids go to day schools or religious schools? Are there Jewish restaurants? Delis? Stores? And don't stop there!
